چکیده

A tube-based robust economic model predictive control scheme is proposed for sparse, linear storage network systems under bounded disturbances. We present a modeling framework that reflects conservation principles, and which centralized controller optimizes performance metric the entire over finite time horizon. Our main result computationally efficient projection-based approach exploits sparse structure of system dynamics tightening state input constraints, in meantime ensuring average performance, recursive feasibility, asymptotic stability are maintained. An inventory problem demand uncertainty presented to illustrate advantages benchmark against nominal control.

Model Predictive Control of Distributed Energy Resources with Predictive Set-Points for Grid-Connected Operation

This paper proposes an MPC - based (model predictive control) scheme to control active and reactive powers of DERs (distributed energy resources) in a grid - connected mode (either through a bus with its associated loads as a PCC (point of common coupling) or an MG (micro - grid)). DER may be a DG (distributed generation) or an ESS (energy storage system). In the proposed scheme, the set - poin...

Improving Wind Farm Dispatchability Using Model Predictive Control for Optimal Operation of Grid-Scale Energy Storage

This paper demonstrates the use of model-based predictive control for energy storage systems to improve the dispatchability of wind power plants. Large-scale wind penetration increases the variability of power flow on the grid, thus increasing reserve requirements. Large energy storage systems collocated with wind farms can improve dispatchability of the wind plant by storing energy during gene...

Integrating dynamic economic optimization and model predictive control for optimal operation of nonlinear process systems

In this work, we propose a conceptual framework for integrating dynamic economic optimization and model predictive control (MPC) for optimal operation of nonlinear process systems. First, we introduce the proposed two-layer integrated framework. The upper layer, consisting of an economic MPC (EMPC) system that receives state feedback and time-dependent economic information, computes economicall...

Single-layer economic model predictive control for periodic operation

In this paper we consider periodic optimal operation of constrained periodic linear systems. We propose an economic model predictive controller based on a single layer that unites dynamic real time optimization and control. The proposed controller guarantees closed-loop convergence to the optimal periodic trajectory that minimizes the average operation cost for a given economic criterion. A-pri...

Robust Model Predictive Control for a Class of Discrete Nonlinear systems

This paper presents a robust model predictive control scheme for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems subject to state and input constraints. Each subsystem is composed of a nominal LTI part and an additive uncertain non-linear time-varying function which satisfies a quadratic constraint. Using the dual-mode MPC stability theory, a sufficient condition is constructed for synthesizing the ...
